AUSTRALIA NATIONAL PARKS Alexander Morrison National Park, It was named for Alexander Morrison, first Government Botanist of Western Australia. Avon Valley National Park Badgingarra National Park Barranyi North Island National Park Boorabbin National Park Brockman National Park Beedelup National Park major attraction is the Beedelup Falls. A suspension bridge, offers passage across Beedelup Brook and good views of the falls. Cape Arid National Park Cape Le Grand National Park features pristine white sand beaches. Cape Le Grand National Park is a popular spot for fishing, four wheel drive enthusiasts, and hikers. Cape Range National Park runs down the western side of the North West Cape peninsula. At Cape Range there is a popular sandy beach and lighthouse. D'Entrecasteaux National Park Djukbinj National Park Drysdale River National Park Elsey National Park Finke Gorge National Park Fitzgerald River National Park includes the Barren Mountains and Eyre Range and the Fitzgerald River. It incorporates the Fitzgerald Biosphere. Within the National Park is the Quaalup Homestead. Francois Peron National Park Garig Gunak Barlu National Park Geikie Gorge National Park is generally known by its Aboriginal name, Darngku. The gorge has been formed by the Fitzroy River. Glass House Mountains National Park, the Glass Houses are rhyolite plugs that where formed by volcanic activity millions of years ago. Gloucester National Park contains the Gloucester Tree, Western Australia's most famous Karri tree. Visitors can climb up to a viewing platform 61 meters above the ground, using the climbing pegs inserted into the tree. Greenmount National Park is a component of the Darling Range National Park. It has significance in aboriginal folklore. Great Sandy National Park presents Fraser Island’s spectacular natural features. Gregory National Park Gull Rock National Park Hidden Valley National Park is also known as Mirima National Park. The rock formations are very similar to the Bungle Bungle outcrops in Purnululu National Park John Forrest National Park was the first national park in Western Australia. It was a very popular railway excursion location while the railway was in existence, now there is a scenic drive through the park. Kakadu National Park Kalbarri National Park, famed for the diversity and extent of wildflowers during winter months. Kalbarri National Park 's most popular tourist destination is 'Nature's Window', other major geographical features of the park include the Murchison River gorge. Spectacular coastal cliffs are located on the coast near the mouth of the Murchison River. Karijini National Park is the second largest national park in Western Australia. Karijini National Park is most notable for its gorges, waterfalls and water holes. Keep River National Park Kennedy Range National Park Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park is named after the two locations at either end of the park which have lighthouses, Cape Leeuwin and Cape Naturaliste. This park has significant stands of karri and jarrah forest, as well as an extensive network of caves. It also has the cave known as Devil's Lair which has important archaeological significance. Lesueur National Park Litchfield National Park Mary River National Park Millstream-Chichester National Park is made up of the old Millstream station. The area is homeland of the Yinjibarndi people, The Yinjibarndi people work as Rangers and contrators in the Park. Mirima National Park Moore River National Park, the Moore River runs through the park on its way to the Indian Ocean. Mount Augustus National Park, Mount Augustus is known as Burringurrah to the local Wadjari Aboriginal people. Mount Frankland National Park Nambung National Park Neerabup National Park Nitmiluk National Park Porongurup National Park protects the Porongurup Range, an extremely ancient and largely leveled mountain range, formed in the Precambrian over 1200 million years ago. It is believed that the Porongurup Range is a remnant of the Precambrian collision that joined Australia and Antarctica, until they separated in the Paleocene. The karri forests are one of the major attractions of the Porongurups Purnululu National Park, Purnululu is the name given to the sandstone area of the Bungle Bungle Range by the Kija Aboriginal people. Purnululu National Park is famous for the sandstone domes (distinctive beehive-shaped towers ), unusual and visually striking with their striping in alternating orange and grey bands. Rudall River National Park is the largest national park in Western Australia, and one of the largest in the world. Scott National Park Serpentine National Park main feature is the Serpentine Falls, a series of waterfalls in the upper reaches of Serpentine River. Shannon National Park Stirling Range National Park, The Stirling Ranges is one of the richest areas for flora in the world. Notable features include Toolbrunup, Bluff Knoll (the tallest peak for a thousand kilometers or more in any direction and most popular tourist attraction), and a silhouette called The Sleeping Lady which is visible from the Porongurup Range. Stokes National Park Tathra National Park Torndirrup National Park has many impressive rock formations on the coast. These include the Gap, Natural Bridge and the Blowholes. Tuart Forest National Park Tunnel Creek National Park, The natural cave Tunnel Creek is a major attraction of the park. Walpole-Nornalup National Park is famous for its towering Karri and Tingle trees. Red Tingle trees are unique to the Walpole area. The 'Valley of the Giants' is one of the main tourist draws, get a tree top view on the 'Tree Top Walk' a 40m high walk-way that can accommodate wheelchairs, beneath the canopy walk there is a pathway around the Tingle trees for walkers - this is known as the 'Ancient Empire'. Walyunga National Park Warren National Park Watarrka National Park (including Kings Canyon) Waychinicup National Park Wellington National Park West Cape Howe National Park Whitsunday Islands National Park consists of continental islands formed when changing sea levels drowned a mountain range. Whitehaven Beach is world-renowned for its pure, white, silica sands and crystal-clear waters. Important calving ground for migrating humpback whales. William Bay National Park Windjana Gorge National Park Wolfe Creek Crater National Park Yalgorup National Park Yanchep National Park is noted for its caves, native bush and koala colonies.
