| The San Juan Islands are part of Washington State. There are over 100 islands make up the San Juan Islands Archipelago. Washington visitors and residents visit the San Juan Islands often, these islands are a popular tourist destination, with boating, sea kayaking and whale watching, three of the primary attractions. Orcas Island has the highest mountain, Mount Constitution, with a 360 degree viewing tower at the top, noted for having one of the best scenic views in the world! Mount Constitution is located in Moran State Park, which is also the largest public recreation area in the San Juan Islands. |

The majority of islands are State Parks. Four islands, Lopez Island, Shaw Island, Orcas Island and San Juan Island are accessible by Washington State ferries, both passengers and vehicles are loaded on ferries several times a day and night. Ferry terminals are located in Anacortes, Washington and Sidney British Columbia, gateway's to San Juan Islands.

| There are other ways to get to the San Juan Islands, to mention a few transportation methods, Seattle, Everett, Anacortes and Bellingham have regular schedules flights to the San Juan Islands. There are numerous charter boats and water taxi's available as well. |
